Why is my keyboard typing numbers when i try to type in letters ?

well , basically when i try typing letters it starts typing numbers instead of letters , i can't enter any alphabets %26lt;.%26lt; which means i cant write decently , only the on screen keyboard is working





this happened after my friend entered my desktop with a software called teamviewer , i started typing but instead of letters numbers came up ....dont know how to fix this issue , is it a virus ? plz help me thank you .Why is my keyboard typing numbers when i try to type in letters ?

Have you checked the number lock key?


Maybe the control panel settings have been changed? Is the keyboard type correct?

I have seen this problem may times. If your computer is a laptop the number pad feature may have accidentally been turned on maybe by your friend when logged in using Team Viewer. Each laptop is different but to turn this feature on or off you normally hold down the FN key and then press one of the Function keys. There should be a number pad symbol on the proper Function Key to press. The most common Function Keys to press are F5, F6 %26amp; F8. Refer to the link below for additional information.
