How to estimate the numbers of microbial cells in a sample by the standard plate count SPC?

Count the amount of cells in a small area...say the plate is 30cm3 or whatever just count the amount of cells day in 1 cm3 and multiply by 30...you would probably have to count in a smaller area as microbes are very small..
